Car Insurance - Moving home

I paid my annual car insurance in 1 go back in February, however now in a few weeks I'll be moving about 80 miles away to a new job.
Now I know the usual thing would be to inform my insurers (and the DVLA) about my change of address, however I do not yet have a firm address.
I plan to be staying with friends in the area temporarily while I sort out my own accommodation. But what are the rules on updating address changes when the change is to a temporary address (while I plan temporary to be no more than a few weeks but could extend into a month or two depending how the search goes!)
