Car accident - shall I stick to my guns?

I often stop, flash and let someone out of a junction if it's very busy. Does this mean that it's wrong to do this? I can't see how they would get out otherwise. I've often been in a line of traffic and almost every car will stop and let one car out of the junction.
I often do the same but as the previous poster says it is a confusing signal.. There are times when you flash someone and the car coming the other way doesn't stop and let the car out and sometimes you have to move on. In the dark i find it very hard to see if someone has flashed me or not.0 -

I can see how that could be a problem. Usually the car at the junction will edge out first and look to see if anything is coming in the other lane. I can't recall doing it in the dark because i'm not out much in the evenings. It's difficult to know what to do for the best. You think you're being courteous but you could end up causing an accident unintentionally. But all accidents are unintentional, aren't they?0
