ONETEL again!

Arghh, just had to vent again about onetel, I thought I had finally got rid of them out of my life but no, they have popped up again.

Had mobile phone contracts with them and everything was cancelled last December, it took me weeks to get it all done, they just kept losing details of my cancellation requests and sending more bills in, just standing charges as I had stopped using the phones in December and ported the numbers out. Anyway come early March I finally get confirmation that my account was finally closed.

However yesterday I get a notice that I have an online bill waiting to be read and that automatic payment will be taken from my nominated card at end of May. I try to log in to see what was happening but of course I can't as I have no account, nor can I talk to them on the phone as I have no account. I emailed them and explained that the bill mist hav ebeen sent in error and have just got a reply back part of which says

"Thank you for your recent e-mail.

We would like to inform that the reason you have received the 15th May bill is because there were 2 calls that was not charged in the 15th January bill."

It also goes on to say that I should call them if I have any concerns, but of course they won't talk to me as I don't have an account.

I paid my bills by credit card and HSBC have said I can't stop any payments, I can only dispute them if they are made.

SO, I haven't used one tel mobile phones since early/mid December, I even paid standing charges for a month or two as I was fed up with trying to reason with them and just paid up, and now I have a bill for an unknown amount that I cannot even see as I no longer have an account with them.

Enough is enough

Arghhh.

You can report your credit card 'lost' and they replace it with one with a new number. Transaction attempts on the old number will then fail. You will be without a card for 7ish days though.

Not necessarily, the card can be reported lost but the card provider may still put the amounts onto the new cards bill. It will then be up to the card holder to dispute the amounts.
