broken gas bed on gas fire underneath fire coals

British Gas under the Homecare agreement broken my gas fire bed. The coals sit on top of it. Now British gas have refused to approve it. They have tested everything all is working. I stood and watched them.


They say they can't find the gas fire on the internet. When I telephoned the office 5 years ago on three separate occasions the office staff refused to deal with my complaint.


All office staff said there is nothing they can do. Now I have put in an official complaint which may take up to 8 weeks and they have offered me £100 compensation which I have refused.


They say I cannot complaint any further to anyone else.


What can I do? Does anyone know

So if they broke it how is it working?


What I think you are saying, correct me if I'm wrong, is that you believe they broke it 5 years ago but it was working so not been a problem until now.


Unfortunately everything has an end of life, this fire will have reached this period just like millions of other obsolete gas appliances that they will no longer cover under the plan. It happens because they are now to old to source parts for.


I have unfortunately had to condemn a few boilers in my time which isn't an easy thing to do as they are expensive to replace and the last thing a house holder needs to hear, but some are just so old there is no choice.


If I am wrong because tbh I don't really understand your post let me know.
