  • Yes...yes....did I mention yes? We didn't use one last move....highly regretted it! I would rather live on baked beans and value pasta for 6 months than do that again.

The clothes in drawers were left in the drawers last time I moved. The clothes hanging in the wardrobe were put into a special tall hanger box made for the job.

ooooh that sounds great although I have a lot of clothes do they put a limit on the special hanger boxes?

I presume that this gets factored into the quote they give you after viewing your property.

This must be the first thread I have read on here in years where the advice is unanimous.

Yes - I've never had any extras. In fact, they always go over and above. There's never been none of this *sharp intake of breath* jobsworth sorts. They have lifted furniture over back fences, taken arms of sofas off, dismantled beds, picked up a fridge freezer for me en route... great service.

Absolutely yes - when it's put into proportion against other moving costs its the best £ spent (aside from a takeaway on the first night). Think how much time you'd spend packing your own stuff vs professionals that do it all the time.

Using their own boxes also means no moaning about any they have to put in the van and how they fit.

I did pack a few very delicate / sentimental items myself but that was it, packers did everything else (including, a bit over enthusiastically EVERY pair of shoes I had so I had to unearth one pair to leave the house) and a banana that was wrapped up too!

Do keep aside tea / coffee / sugar though - they weren't too pleased when they realised they'd packed the coffee and the sugar :o:rotfl:

We moved 7 weeks ago. We had a part pack, we got a ton of stuff from the attic and packed it, they did the rest. They did an amazing job, couldn't believe how fast they were. As an added bonus they didn't drink tea/coffee or eat any of the expensive bikkies I'd bought:D

As others have said, worth every penny

Main things I'd suggest taking care of before the packers arrive is

    1. Keep aside things you want handy on move day
    - tea / coffee / sugar / kettle / minimal crockery
    - essential food / medicines
    - clothes for the day
    - phones, chargers
    - cleaning equipment

    2. Throw out rubbish
Packers will often blindly pack everything, so have a clear out before they come and take out the bins & recycling, so you don't have unwanted items making it to your nice new home.
