a week to DOE and issues

Our date of entry has been set for the past 8 weeks and missives concluded 7 weeks ago. The DOE has been set for next Wednesday. We have continuously chased our solicitor to see if more information is required and he's said no, until Thursday at 10 to 5 when he said we needed our home insurance endorsed to show that Scottish minister had an interest in the property, he said he would keep an eye on his inbox over the bank holiday and get it sent over to allow the lift scheme to transfer funds. We also needed a credit card statement certified by him as per our mortgage offer, which he said he would also send back to us. Yesterday he finally contacted to say that he is unsure if the summary of insurance will be suitable and he is hoping that we will be able to keep the DOE for Wednesday but it is going to be very tight! Does anyone know how long it takes for Leeds to release funds (don't think they'd transfer £50k by faster payment)? I'm stressing that we will now incur legal fees if the funds aren't available to the vendor. They have bought and moved in to another property already, but I am sure they want this wrapped up as much as we do.

Unless something unusual has been agreed, you pay interest on the price. Seller can pull out once you are 14 days late (and sue you for their costs). Standard penalty clause in the missives, should have been explained to you before you concluded!

We were told with 7 weeks to go "everything would be good to go". We chased all relevant parties and have done everything we were asked. We've spoken to our lender today and they've advised they are only waiting on the certificate of entitlement so they can release the funds! They need 5 working days so they needed it today and they didn't have it and our lawyer didn't answer calls/emails and had gone for the day when we dropped by! I don't know what we're meant to do now! Surely we can't be liable for him taking over 7 weeks to draw up the papers required?!

Also we were told missives were concluded after we chased for a week about what was happening after we were told the DOE!
