Reducing Quartz Kitchen Worktop Thickness

Hello,
I can't seem to find any information regarding the following matter:
Are there any disadvantage to milling down a quartz worktop slab from 30mm to 20mm?
The supplier has made a mistake in the availability of the slab thickness (the colour we've ordered isn't available in the required thickness) and suggests this option (at their cost).
Many thanks for your answers.

IF they can find someone with a gantry mill and are prepared to accept the cost, it is certainly possible (depending on the construction of the worktop). As long as the supplier is willing to provide a warranty and fix any problems, it might be OK.
If the worktop has an internal lightweight core, then exposing it probably isn't a good idea.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Thanks for your reply FreeBear, it's a solid slab and will be under a 'lifetime' warranty... Cross fingers!0

When they messed up our installation they milled down some of the worktop they had cut wrong to make upstands & window sills. Machining quartz is what they do so I wouldn't expect any problems.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
