Gravel board- fit together

Options
Hi,

I have a small gap at the end of my fence- on one side of the gap is a concrete fence post with ridge for placing fence panel; on other side is brick wall.

I just want to block up this small gap (6-9inches)- it doesn't have to look amazing or last a very long time (2-3 years is OK).

I had the idea of using painted gravel boards to fill the gap- it is slightly wider than one board, so would need to attach two boards together with overlap.

Should I just short screws or is there a better way?

Thanks

Get yourself a couple of butt straps (no really they do exist) and connect the two gravel boards together end to end without overlapping. A butt strap is a flat piece of metal with four holes in, screw a couple of screws into each piece of gravel board.
