Court timings

Recently submitted a defence to Court, got an acknowledgement of receipt from Northampton. Nothing since.

How long does it take (average) for the PPCs to carry on with their claims?

I fully expect they'll carry on pursuing my claim, but no directions questionnaire yet.

What's the longest they're allowed to string this whole charade out for??

You should receive notification from the claimant, or their solicitors, of their intention to proceed within approx 33 days of submitting your defence.

This will also be sent to the court at which point the DQ's will be sent out. Mcol will be updated when this happens so keep an eye on it.

There's a question without a straight forward answer... If they don't notify the court within 33 days of their intention to proceed then the claim 'should' be stayed and it should cost them £100 to lift the stay.

However we've seen a number of claims that were 'stayed' inexplicably revived after several months with no evidence that the claimant has paid the relevant fee.

    Which PPCs?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
