Really regret Ebay sale...

Hi I have just sold a chest of draws that I absolutely love, but don't have space for.
My husband has pressurised me into selling them and I went along with it.
They sold this evening.
As yet I haven't had any contact from the buyer as to when they will be collected - cash on collection.
I have a poorish Ebay feedback 94% due to 1 negative and low sales in the past 4/5 months. If I withdraw from the transaction my feedback will be awful.......
Any suggestions.......

If 1 negative dropped you to 94% then another will be very very bad. You may want to consider closing your ebay account.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

I know, and this is why I'm considering going ahead with the sale even though I feel really sad.

If you cancel the sale, you will receive a defect on your account. Defects are far more serious than negative feedback. You run the risk of losing your account altogether. Two strikes and you are out.
Also, if you receive another red dot, the chances are no-one will buy from you.
If you do not value your ebay account, just cancel the sale and take the defect and possible negative feedback.
If you want to hold onto your account, see the sale through.0 -

Thanks.
I've not heard of an Ebay defect... How will I know if I have/get one?
I haven't sold on Ebay for quite a number of months. I have only ever received 2 negatives over the years (from 2003) with a feedback score of 1216.
I have received the negative with a low number of transactions -17 which has dropped my %age dramatically.

A few things to consider here.
Firstly, it will probably not be possible to close your account as it is almost certainly below standard and eBay realise it is a way of wiping the slate clean and starting again. eBay t and Cs state that you cannot trade on one account if another is restricted or suspended , hence them stopping the work round of being able to close a bad account and just start again. This also has a knock on effect on any other associated accounts .
Secondly feedback only counts for a year after that it falls off, so depending on when your last neg was you need to ensure that your positive feedback continues to water down the neg, otherwise your feedback will go down. Try selling a few small easy things just for the feedback.
Thirdly no one can force you to sell but as you rightly say another defect of any sort could kill your account and if you get restricted and then suspended that will be it for good. However, I have very little luck with collection only items so there is a good chance you'll never hear from this person, or they decide they can't collect. Give them a couple of days then get their details and phone them. If they hesitate at all about collecting ask them if they want to cancel, if they agree then cancel using the 'buyer requested ' option which means no defect, buyer can still leave feedback but if they do leave poor feedback you can always try appealing on the basis that buyer asked to cancel.
Lastly, it is worth having a look at your seller dashboard, you'll find it by hovering your mouse over the 'account' tab.
Finally finally......have a read of the sticky thread about the problems of collection only items, just in case.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So if you don't have space for them, what are you doing to do with them???
Did you get a good price for them? (E.g. Starting at the minimum you wanted?)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thank you so much soolin for taking the time and giving such a detailed reply.
I am 'owed' some feedback from recent purchases but it will make little difference to my %age.
The 1 negative was given in June 2016 so should soon vanish
Ahh, pinkshoes, now that is the question......
I have decided that maybe my husband could part with some of his inherited furniture.
I'm too quick at trying to please everyone else without first considering what I really want....
I did get a good price for the furniture, more than expected.
