Closing down a bank account

Hi I am after some advice about a bank account I no longer use. I defaulted on a loan I had with lloyds tsb and ended up on a debt management plan. I knew I couldn't close the account whilst I was on the plan but this plan has now ended satisfactorily. I have no real use for this account as I had to change banks when I went on the plan. So what I'm asking is should I close it ? or carry on using the account ?. I have been with lloyds for 30 plus years and I'm trying to build up my credit score so would me closing the account have any bearing on me trying to build up my credit rating again.
Thanks
Thanks

You could switch the account to another bank which offers an incentive to new customers"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
