Hi,
If we fit an electric oven ourselves - will our home insurance policy still cover it or do all appliances like this need fitted by an electrician to provide a safety certificate?

I've never yet seen an insurance policy where the company asks or cares who installed an appliance.
Smaller single ovens generally just plug into a 13A socket these days. Bigger ones need wiring into a cooker point. Assuming that the cooker point is already there, you just need to be competent to connect the 3 wires.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
