Welcome to the weekly Flylady Thread. Its been lovely to see some de-lurkers and some newcomers; do please post even if it's just to say 'list completed'

Thank you Natty for last week's thread

It is your responsibility to read the forum rules, please follow them on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us.

The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
WM ~ Washing machine
TD ~ Tumble dryer
SC ~ Slowcooker
BM ~ Breadmaker
DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up! All credit to AnW's Mum for this one
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!

Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al - supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!!

Sorry everyone I seem to have missed about two weeks, I have been flying and kept incredibly busy so hope I'm still allowed in.
Hugs good wishes and posi vibes to all who need them.

I'm having today off but will do some sewing, I've been gardening at ours and mils, got most of the ironing done, had nearly everyone round for lunch yesterday, been over mums and dad and step mums for pre Easter visits and got the mending pile cleared so I think you can see why I've been too busy to post.

Hugs all have a greatbank holiday x

Me again. Thanks for the list Valli.

Only things outstanding from my earlier list are stripping the bed (which will now be done tomorrow as there is enough other washing to be getting on with) and the hoovering which I'll do next before walking the dogs.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Good morning :D

Thanks for the list Valli - I think I will manage this one!

So far this morning I have run 5K and showered. I then scrubbed the shower and the tiles. Brunch has been eaten and I am having a cuppa then heading to the allotment for a little while, before the rain.
DH has but the dinner in the SC (Bolognese sauce for lasagne), and I hear the sound of the clippers, so the dog is getting a haircut!

I still haven't managed any sewing this weekend - maybe later. And all my paperwork is so behind!

I managed to get online at HMRC yesterday on behalf of my Mum. It was going great, then the site had 'technical difficulties' so it ground to a halt. The fees for probate are going up in may, so we are on a deadline!

    Have a lovely day everyone!

Howdy :) thanks for the lists, ladies!

We've flown outdoors this morning. Hutch cleaned out, DS helped me evict a 'small' fir tree that was going a bit crazy and DD de-headed the daffs.

They went on their bikes for a while but it's still chilly so we've come back in. They've set a cinema up in the den with about 100 teddy 'guests' lol. I'm not invited.

Kitchen floor wiped including popping off one of the baseboards thanks to a piggie taking a pee up the side of it :naughty:

    Writing my shopping list now!

I'm in again this week...round two of the Easter holidays...

Natty - hoping the IV antibiotics work for your DH. Sending hugs for you both x

Great start for me. 3am poke in the face by Small complaining about his bed again. Seriously, how the boy gets a single duvet in such a tangle is anyone's guess. Can he have a drink? Chocolate? A midnight snack? Smacked bum? No, not wanting that?

Small and Tiny both up at 6am. Both sent away with a growl and warnings to amuse themselves until at least 7am....6.23am...is it morning yet? 6.47am...how about now?:mad::mad:

DH pretends to sleeps through it all. ATB - I think you're right about him refusing to take on the role of parent.

I get up to discover another bin raid occurred overnight. Chase !!!!!Lips out of the caravan and clear that up, feed all the pets and children, make tea/coffee for adults. Download Scooby Doo onto the boys' tablets, stick their headphones on them and flop back into bed.

Went to the local carvery for a late breakfast and now home and nodding off...

    50 winks it is then...zzzz

LW what on earth are you cutting grass for ????
Because I can!!! :T No, seriously, I am so utterly fed up with the number of tasks I used to take in my stride and now either struggle to do, or can't manage at all. So when our old lawn mower popped it's clogs, I replaced it with a very small, light weight one, which I can actually manage. It takes a long time, and I have to stop and catch my breath frequently, but weird as it sounds, I find it liberating to be able to just go and do the task, instead of asking Mr LW to do it all the time. I did only do the back; I was going to leave the front and do that the following day, but Mr LW said he'd do the front, so I did some deadheading.

Dizzy chin up, hun (((HUG))); and a kick up the rear for unhelpful spouses! If you lived anywhere near MK, I'd gladly take the woofers off your hands for a few hours (sorry, I don't do children).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    BIL came:eek: bearing Th0rntons chox.
They were OOD - I had my suspicions as it was clearly a winter assortment but not surprising as my sister had ordered a hamper before xmas:(

    Afternoon folks

    Thanks for the lists ladies

So sorry I've not been around but have been a bit poorly

I had a nasty viral infection, which suddenly became worse and I had a heart attack last Saturday. The hospital weren't sure what virus I had, as I had some strange symptoms and had come back from Europe only six days prior, so was put in total isolation for four days.

Anyways - I am now home and just finishing course of strong abs. Brain is like blancmange, legs still stuffed with straw and sleeping hours and hours as I'm soo tired.

Think I have to see the doctor in a week or two and meanwhile on low aspirin and blood-thinning drug. I hope they did finally find out what it was as I'd love to know what tried to kill me !

So I'll be here, on and off cheering from the side-lines, as not able to do much other than the odd 'potter'.

Hope you all enjoying your Easter
