Tracing bank accounts

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Is there any way to find out if the deceased had any bank accounts that no paperwork exists for?

I'm doing the admin for an auntie. She had two accounts with Santander, I wrote to them and they confirmed it was just two accounts and gave me the probate values.

But, later I found a statement in a pile of papers with a third Santander account number. Santander missed this as the address had an ever so slightly different postcode. If I hadn't found this statement though I'd never have know about this account. This got me thinking, how can I be sure there aren't any other accounts lurking out there somewhere?
