Help to buy ISA. Question

Hi guys, I've had a good look around the forum and the Internet in general, can't find the answer:
Love the idea of the HTB isa, but often it says it's for first time buyers only.. I bought a house in 1998 and sold it in 2001, as we moved into my inlaws.. I guess technically that means I'm not a first time buyer? Any ideas folks? Cheers. J

    2. I do not own, and never have owned any interest in land, whether in the United Kingdom or elsewhere

First time buyer has different meanings for different things. Some mortgage companies will class someone as 'first time' if they have no current mortgage.

For the HTB ISA you are not a first time buyer, as this is not the first time you have bought a property.
  • Yeah cheers, gutted really. But I suppose they have to draw the line somewhere..
