Hairspray removal from glass ???

Hi
I clean for a few of my mum's friends but I have come across this problem.
I cannot get the hairspray from the glass wardrobe doors.
I have asked her not to spray in front of the doora again - but who knows where it is going now. It is like superglue!
I have tried all normal cleaning products, and I daresay if I spent long enough could get it off with a non-scratching scourer. My last attempt was with nail polish remover.
I don't tend to use Turps but do you think it would help?
Is there a magic solution or does the company that makes this hairspray in a gold aerosol have the answer ?
