Not really clear on what you're asking so I'll have to hazard a guess.

If your computer only has HDMI and your monitor doesn't have HDMI but only VGA or DVI, you can get adapters to convert them.

Such as this, from HDMI to VGA if that's what you need:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer-Black-Adapter-Converter-Laptop/dp/B007KEIRNG

The most common VGA socket is a male-to-male cable. You can tell the difference easily by just looking at it, the male end has the pins on show whereas the female end just has the holes.

With regards to all-in-one PC's - nice but often expensive, nice space savers with a decent screen but hard or impossible to upgrade further down the line.

if your monitor/tower has dvi sockets i would get a dvi cable to connect them

Are you sure the tower only has HDMI output ?

HDMI to VGA convertors are very flakey as hdmi is obviously digital, and VGA is analogue.
You would also need a cable for audio (Unless the convertor box had that included)

It really would be best if you could invest in a new monitor (not very MSE I'm sorry)

As fort the all in ones .. Nice to look at, and nice when they work.
But very restrictive on what you can upgrade , and very difficult (expensive) to repair should anything go wrong. In short - good, if work are buying it - Bad if you are buying it

    Hi

Perhaps peruse CPC Farnell to ID the socket type and look for an adapter?

    http://cpc.farnell.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?catalogId=15002&langId=69&storeId=10180&categoryId=700000010335&st=monitor%20cable%20adapters&pageSize=25&showResults=true

    EG: Order Code: CS24863 £5.41

    • Convert a VGA video signal to a DVI-I signal
    • Ideal for connecting a VGA video card to a DVI-I equipped monitor or projector
    • No software or drivers required
    • Moulded adaptor with thumbscrews
And there are HDMI to most other types of plug/socket.
