Huge increase in insurance.
Options
Sadly my 19 year old Saab 9-3 turbo ragtop has come to the end of its life, my manager at work is retiring to Greece next week ( Not at all jealous! ) and I am buying his Pug 307cc.
This car is still 12 years old, but been very well maintained. But, it is 70BHP down on my old car, yet my ins. co. have quoted a 60% increase in premiums. Are Pugs expensive to repair?

Maybe your insurer doesn't like pugs??
Check the whole market to see if the quote is competitive.

I also found problems getting cheap insurance on a Peugeot 106 1.5 58bhp diesel.
My 180bhp Fabia vRS 1.9 TDi with a lot of mods & all declared wasn't much more when it came to cheapest quote vs cheapest on a few comparison sites.
Perhaps as the Peugeot models in question are a lot more common they have a lot more claims and therefore risk assosiated with them. All your base are belong to us.0 -

The insurance companies employ highly qualified mathematicians who would see the flaw in that theory.0 -

That was the suggestion i got from the social media PR staff (who also is a petrol head) of the insurance company i'm with when they weren't able to quote me lower on the Peugeot 106, than what they had me on for my modified Fabia. All your base are belong to us.0
