I'd be dancing on the ceiling if my only irritation with the neighbours was a few, quiet, but potentially irritating, nettle stings.

Your kids will soon learn to avoid them.

    - anyway nettle grow where people urinate ..urgh
I urinate frequently outside my chicken run as a fox deterrent, but as nettles don't spring up there, this theory looks suspect to me.

It's well known that nettle patches in fields often coincide with former rubbish pits and 'night soil' dumps, so this may be where the idea comes from. Nettles just prefer soil rich in nutrients.

As to the OP, just cut back the tree branch to the boundary and spray any weeds that cross into your garden. It's no big deal and your neighbour won't care one way or the other.

Offer to do his garden for him.

  • Ah - I begin to see how the nettles could be stinging. I guess that's the answer - ie they are poking through the fence.

In that case = another remedy is needed as to how to deal with protruding nettles - as one can't just "keep them trimmed" (unlike the tree).

I would be puzzled as to how to deal with protruding nettles - as I don't use chemicals and can't actually think of another way to do so.

Nip them off with the strimmer every time you cut the grass then hoover them up with the mower.

Not a good idea to urinate near stinging nettles. You could get stung somewhere very sensitive.

Yes and anything else in the garden that you might actually want to grow

Just chop them off at the fence, wearing gloves.
    DONE
