Hi, got myself in a right one here.
I recently bought a car on finance..I received the logbook with the wrong name as the registered keeper. I informed the dealership, they said they would sort it, I'm still waiting for a new one.
Anyway I've just received a speeding ticket for doing 36 in a 30 zone..And it's arrived in the wrong name (the one on the logbook)
I'm a newish driver (11 months) really not sure who to turn to first.

Think you need to be here:

If it was you speeding the return the NIP providing all the information they want. You should get offered a speed awareness course which means no points.
Failure to return the form will open a world of pain and likely end with you having to take a retest along side eye watering insurance premiums for the next 5 years.
The V5 issue should be straightforward, it's a regular occurrence, just send it back with the correct details. A covering letter explaining the dealer cocked up will smooth things.
I'm not sure why you need to turn to anyone this is straightforward.0 -
I can't see the problem. The dealer got my name wrong on V5, changed it and sent off, back within a week.
Fill in the form naming yourself as driver (if it was you) and return it. Trying to be clever could end up badly, failing to name the driver is more serious than the speeding offence.0 -
Its vital that you are honest when dealing with a real traffic offence/parking penalty. Things can get very ugly for the person making things up to try and get out of it - there are many other legitimate methods to skin the catFrom the Plain Language Commission:

Send V5C off for correct name and send the NIP back naming yourself.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
