Cawsand, Kingsand, Seaton, Polperro are all lovely. Personally I am not too keen on Looe, too many emmits for me!

I would say travel the area living in holiday lets for a year as rightly pointed places change and rose tinted glasses of nostalgia are not a good instrument in choosing a house to buy. Outskirts of Plymouth and an area just across the border into Cornwall are good - no Totnes' traffic, variety of prices, lots of water with all the estuaries and coastlines hence views, easy access to all supermarkets.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.
