Euro car parking fines

Good evening/morning. I am a bit raging annoyed really December 16 just after Christmas I received a parking fine stating I was parked within morrisons carpark at Dalkeith in September 16 over a time which I didn't see any notices. On that day I was in Dalkeith shopping and also shopped in morrisons with my daughter aged 4. Now I don't shop and out again am usually in shop for over an hour anyway usually.more. if I new there was a limit I wouldn't have bothered never got a ticket or anything on screen when I left. I was shocked when I got this. I emailed them and got my friend to email as she is good with things like tussle now they never replied I got another letter saying that I still haven't paid £150.00 which was awfy high parking fine. Which I email them back but they done seem to answer you which again thought was strange. I contacted citizens advice they said ignore then thus morning received letter from zenith debt management saying that I have to pay or settle this and if not court action will be taken. I gave heard different things and don't know what to do xny advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance xxx

    +1

In Scotland and Northern Ireland, the law is different. If they do not know who the driver is, then they would have a difficult time with a Sheriff. So the rule is file and forget.

With regards to the claims (aka lies) told by companies like Zenith, ECP have been to court in Scotland but only for the serial abuser i.e. dozens of tickets.

It pays to be aware of these signs now and to keep to what is says on them. These parking companies prey on people that like to think they are not enforceable. They are but it is just too expensive for the occasional ticket.

You have to clock up 200+ before it is worth their while going to court.

For the best free and up to date advice about private parking tickets, please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES, especially the bit about Scotland and NI where it tells you to ignore.

Please also put som carrieage returns in your post so it can be read more easily. You were asked to do this the first time you posted (on an out of date thread.)

But as it's Morrisons this is a cinch to get cancelled, even in Scotland.

Search the forum for 'Morrisons' and you will find the answer. Posted too often for me to repeat yet again. Bored today. This is so easy to cancel.

And it's only Euro Car Parks too!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
