New bathroom

Options
I've received the below estimate to supply & fit a new bathroom. I had in my head maybe £5000 or so, though totally willing to admit I had more or less plucked that out of the air. The room is very small, only 147 x 197cm, so just expected it to be a bit lower. Does this seem normal/reasonable?

I'm in Glasgow if it makes a difference. If anyone has recommendations for bathroom fitters for some more quotes they'd be welcome! I'd actually probably prefer labour only and I'll buy the suite etc myself but these guys quoted for both.

Thanks for any advice.
Labour to remove existing bathroom suite, radiator, wall and floor tiles, plywood, damaged plasterboard, clear site of all rubbish £340
1/2 skip hire £90
Plumbing labour to install new bath, thermostatic mixer shower, shower screen, vanity unit basin, w/c set, ladder style heated towel rail running all pipe work to suit £980
Joiner labour to prepare walls for new tiles, lay plywood on floor, lift floor areas to allow pipe work and relay, box in bath panel for tiling, any other joinery required £440
Electrical to supply & install 1x LED steam light, 3x LED down lights £190
Labour to fill, smooth and paint ceiling including materials £80
Labour to fully tile walls & bath panel, 20 m2 £560
Labour to tile floor 3 m2 £90
Cost to supply plumbing pipe work, fittings, traps, valves, gyproc, timbers, fixings, plywood, tile adhesives, grouts, trims, polybonds, sealants, compounds £490
Cost to supply 1550 x 700mm bath with mixer tsps, clicker waste, thermostatic mixer shower, shower screen, vanity unit basin with mixer taps, clicker waste, w/c set with soft close seat, 1200mm ladder style heated towel rail with TRV kit £1900
Cost to supply wall tiles, £25 m2 £500
Cost to supply floor tiles £35 m2 £105

Total £5765 + VAT = £6918
2018 wins: Aspinal of London jewellery box, Boudavida gym outfit, HP Pavilion laptop, The List party tickets, All Points East festival tickets, Kiehls moisturiser, By Terry cc serum, Nars Liquid Bronzer, Benefit highlighter, Nars illuminator, Fresh advanced lip trio set, Cetaphil sample set, signed copy of My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent

  • That's not a bad price considering you're getting everything for that, we've been quoted £5650 just for the installation. Get another quote from someone else so you have something to compare it to.
  • Get another quote or two. 5k should be quite doable. Pm me as i can recommend a couple of companies

I would say look for more quotes.

We are having a full bathroom refurb and have a quote of £3500 for all labour and materials and that includes things like underfloor heating, recessed shelves, ceiling spotlight in the shower, thermostatic shower installed along with the £1500 for tiles, shower, enclosure, toilet, sink and light up mirror/cupboard is £5k.

I believe a small bathroom like yours you can get it for less

They have quoted to tile the whole floor 35% of that is covered by the bath.

your total 4 walls before doors. with say 2.3m high walls

    2.3 * (1.47 + 1.97)*2 ~ 16SqM @ £25 ~ £400

lot of room for waste in the numbers.
  • For the size of room easily achievable less than 5k there estimate (not even a quote???? ) is so open to abuse that really its only use is to wipe your !!!! with:rotfl:
