Hi,
Last week I took out a new current account for my mother at Tesco, which was accepted.
Her energy fix is coming to anend within a month and I want to change her over to a supplier who does a hard search. Does anyone this this is a poor idea.
Her credit is good but is was fairly poor a few years back.
Any advice welcome. Thank you

What are you asking?
Whether it's a bad idea for companies to credit check or for 2 searches to happen in quick succession? Is your mother planning on taking out new credit like loan/credit card in the next 2-3 months? If not, don't worrySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I changed energy suppliers to BG with "the big switch" , then I got a new CC in December and then changed bank a/c in January. Yes it has a negative effect on my credit score, but that's largely irrelevant. I'm not planing any more credit applications just yet, so for me it's not a problem.
People shouldn't get overly concerned if the score goes down, its all about using credit efficiently, so unless you envisage more credit applications in the next six to twelve months, I wouldn't worry.0 -
I was asking if two credit checks in quick succession was a good idea to ones credit rating. From both responses it appears I need not worry too much. What are you asking?
