Ticket upside down

Hi guys,

First of all I'd like to thank you for all the information provided in the Newbies section, however there is to much to digest for me and I don't seem to find a problem like mine, so I wonder if you could help me.

Yesterday, I paid for my ticket at 1pm (lasting until 8am the following day) and left it on the dashboard, unfortunately when I closed the door the air flow turned it upside down with the result of me being issued a ticket (£85 or £50 if paid in advance) by Britannia parking in West Quay Southampton.

I have the ticket I paid stating date and time so my question is: should I appeal online straight away and send proof of my paid ticket or should I rather wait for another 25 days to appeal?
This is my first ever parking ticket therefore I'm unsure of what to do.

If I have to wait the 25 days until appear, what should be the process then?

Sorry if this has been already discussed but I haven't been able to find it.

Thank you in advance.

This is discussed in the Newbies Sticky TBH - If you are the RK of the vehicle - ie its not under any kind of hire, finance or owned by somebody else, you wait till you get the NTK from the PPC before sending a reply.

All writing to them now will do is give them your personal details for free and let them-off the requirement to get the NTK out to you within the POFA-timescale, which is something PPCs fail to do surprisingly often and if it happens is entirely in your favour. :)

If the vehicle is in another name, then you do appeal early draw-fire to you.

The best thing to do in this period is to take your time preparing an initial response, that does not identify the driver and to get yourself familiar with the strategies you will need to use at the next stage of appeal - or seek a landowner cancellation.

Appeal at around day 26 using the blue text initial appeal from the NEWBIES FAQ sticky. Why do this? Answered in the following extract from the sticky.
Q:- Why wait till day 26 before appealing a BPA member PCN on the windscreen?

A:- To engage them in the appeals process at a time when they should also be posting a Notice to Keeper. Many PPCs in the BPA forget the NTK when replying to an appeal and if you appeal as 'keeper' then the very fact a PPC then forgets to send you a NTK by day 56, gives you a winning point at POPLA stage. Don't forget this: if you appeal on day 25 or 26 after a windscreen PCN, make sure you take note of whether any postal NTK is ever received. You must include 'no keeper liability' at POPLA stage if you do NOT receive a NTK at all in that time. A rejection letter is not a 'NTK'.
