OS Daily Good Friday 2017

Morning all, O.H and I have had hot cross buns for breakfast too, but son not up yet.
Grey skies and it has been raining so I shan't risk washing outside. If it starts to rain, by the time OH has crawled out, it is too late
Other than a quick trip to li*l I have no real plans, can't think what to make for dinner. So it is just the normal Friday tidy and that's it, folks, cr*ppy films for me.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Hi everyone,
Long time not posting, but I've been reading along.
Glad to hear Hester is having fun on the boatSpeky great news on the property purchase, have fun shopping!
I have rejoined the gym after 4 months. Have been doing 5k on the treadmill (mixture of walking and running as I'm so unfit). Started off taking 42 mins and got it down to 39 mins last night - well chuffed with thatWould dearly love to run the London Marathon in memory of my nephew some day, perhaps before I'm 50 in two years time. We shall see.
On the OS front, today I will do two loads of washing and get them on the line. It's a cool day but there is a breeze. We are prepping the hallway/stairs/landing for redecorating today and will make a start on the glossing on Sunday (have visitors plus their dog tomorrow). All in all there are 13 panelled doors plus spindles (insert scream here) so quite a job.
Not sure what dinner will be but lunch is lo sweet chilli chicken for DH, I will have ham salad and children will have toasties.
Have a good day all,

Morning all
Lovely bright day here and the wm has a towel load on the go I will hang it out for a while later.
Had a nice lay in till 9 this morning ! much needed, OH bought the wood home last night which he worked for, he fixed a lady's wooden swing set for her and she gave him a load of logs, it needs splitting but he estimates that it will keep us going for 18 months to two years :j We had to hand ball it into the back garden last night so we were all shattered.
Today is all about relaxing !! going to have a quick tidy round then nip to Tesco for some Easter eggs and plasters (cut my hand last night and have none )
This afternoon its a film and snooze on the sofaand takeaway tonight !
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
It's quite bright but cloudy here, sun is trying to make an appearance.
DH and myself enjoying first cuppas of the day, I've just had a bowl of porridge. I can hear movement from DS2's room, I should imagine he'll appear shortly wanting food! No movement from DS1's room - he'll be enjoying a lie-in as he works full time and has to be at work to start at 7am.
Dinner last night was pie, roasted potatoes, peas, broc and gravy for the menfolk, I had jacket potato, veg and smoked haddock - was delicious, I'm endeavouring to eat more fish as I'm trying to lose some more weight, it's slowly starting to work, but it's going to be a long job I think. Food for today is going to be either fish or bbq - I've got both so we'll just chose later.
Yesterday I did get some chores done, I got all the washing done, but it took ages to line dry, did dry 1 load in the TD as it was too thick to dry properly on the line, and most of the time the heating is now off, so I didn't want damp washing hanging about. Ironing got done also and I did a very quick shove round with the hoover. I also went to town to visit building society and the bank, also did the food shopping. Seem to have spent a fortune though, but there's plenty of food, so hopefully no buying any more, I'll only do a small shop next week some for the boys and some for us to take with us, as we're self catering I'll be taking some too. We can't take much as we're having an overnight stop on the way up, but there's SM's not too far from where we're going, so we'll go to one of those once we arrive.
Keep safe and well x

I have just been to tesc*, taken there by OH to buy easter eggs which were for him and DS. I prefer just to have a bar of chocolate as I think they are wasteful but always get eggs for them. I was just putting the mister's egg in my basket when he delurked , swooped upon me and pointed out that I was spending a lot of money on an egg. Yes, I said, and it was a special one for you, plain chocolate as that is what you like, but now I shall put it back. I did and got him a cheaper one. That man is very mean with my money and now he has shot himself in the foot serve him right.

Hi everyone,
Its very gloomy and raining hard, had to dry off one soggy giant hound earlier.Tried to do a short cut up a steep slope and ended up on my backside :rotfl:.
We were out at godsons bands gig last night,a few drinks were consumed .DH is working a few hours today finishing something off but didnt wake up till nearly 9.I have the house to myself for once but DGS is coming at 3 for an overnighter. I feel like making a cake so will have a look through my books to see what I fancy.Made Easter nests with the children yesterday, they took most of them home but left us 1 each :rotfl:
I've done a clean and tidy,we'll see how long it stays that way!

Hello Coxy, nice to hear from you. Speky, that's a good deal, I get very cross if I buy something and then see it's gone on sale soon after.
I've been reading but not managing to post - we had visitors earlier this week and have now decamped to the Yorkshire house for a couple of weeks. We had lunch in the Member's dining room at the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday and very nice it was too. We then wandered around London until it was time to go to David Baddiel's show - it was extremely funny. We didn't get home until 12.30 and I'm still feeling the effects, I feel very tired, so I'm taking it easy today.
Luckily it's very overcast here so at least I'm not pining to go for a walk in the sunshine. I'll try and find something to watch whil I hand sew.0 -
Afternoon all
Tried to be busy this morning as DH has gone over his friends to finish the brakes on the car. Thought I would strip the bed and give the upstairs a good clean through. I managed to put two loads of washing out as it's dry and windy. I was interrupted by DD calling in to borrow the carpet cleaner, so stopped for coffee. It was lovely to have a chat just the two of us, but now I am behind with the cleaning. Stopped for lunch at the moment and another coffee but must get on ( in a minute or several ) don't want to but the bed's not even remade.
Have a good day everyone.
PS just had a call from DD as we won the sweepstake for DGS football team fundraiser - £10.00 :j Normally we can't even win an argument !Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -

I drove down in rain and back with intermittent rain. Found my washing all dry :j as I took the basket inside the torrential rain started.
In front of me, on the way down, there was a brand new BMW but the driving was awful. Speeding on 'straight' bits, slowing right down on bends and then, much worse, stopping when a vehicle approached from the other side. This was on the Holy Loch road which is fairly narrow but there is more than enough room to pass without touching. Stupid driving...uses up so much more time and fuel. There's so many visitors on the roads here, most are unused to the ways of driving on our roads - I do try to be patient!
As per the Rule of Gers I stopped on the way home at the Chinese takeaway! :j Happiness is me.
Surprisingly there was a postal delivery today, I had ordered a cassette tape - to - MP3 convertor machine. My DM has a couple of very old cassette tapes with speech on so I want to try to 'save' them.
On the way down I listened to Lenny Henry on R2, he was extremely good and very knowledgable about the music. I really enjoyed the programme, much more than I expected to, he was a real pleasure.
Now it's time for a rest. I hope that everyone has had an enjoyable day.0
