Hi need some advice ive just changed from dla to pip and ive received high rates for both and now the dwp have sent this out. Shall I phone them and explain ive just been awarded high on both for pip. It seems such a waste of time stress and resources that I have to go through this again dont the departments talk to each other. So what should I do should I fill in the questionnaire which is very similar to pip one or not please help.

You'll still need to fill it in and return it. PIP and ESA are 2 completely different benefits.

many people that receive the high rates of DLA/PIP manage to work.

just receiving PIP means very little in regards to ESA

ESA has different criteria to PIP.

As poppy says it is a completely different benefit to PIP.
ESA is a benefit for those who are not able to work.
PIP is paid to help towards the additional costs of disablement (and paid regardless of whether you are working or not working)..

These are useful guides for completing the form:

If you think work would pose a significant risk to your health - then explain this on the last section of the form.

You must fill the form in if you want to (or continue to) receive ESA.

It is worth attaching copies of any relevant medical evidence you have (and also a copy of your PIP award).

If there is a local CAB / advice agency you can contact ,they may be able to help you with the ESA50 form. But, be mindful of the timescales to return the form.

if you refuse to complete it you'll almost certainly lose your ESA

Many of us receive enhanced rate PIP for both components and have careers, having very limited mobility and significant difficulties with everyday tasks does not mean you're definitely unable to work, hence the need for a work capacity assessment regardless of the PIP award.

Simply to reiterate what others have said - you must complete and return the ESA50 or your ESA will be suspended and then ended altogether.
