HorizonParking

Hi parents received a ticket in Sainsburys - Not Parked Wholly Within Bay.

The letter said theyhave ignored the first letter (which they have never received)

At the time when my dad went to get into his car a parking attendant said he could give him a fine for being over the white line (but didnt) - the reason he was over the line was because there was a large van that was over his bays line

The van was gone when my dad returned so it looked as though my dad hadnt parked properly

Should he appeal?or ignore it? he never received the first letter they said about - there doesnt seem to be any photos sent, and it just seems a scam - what should my dad have done not parked? and come back later when there was a bay to park in correctly?!

thanks for the help

Ignoring has not been a realistic option since 2012 - when the law changed.

Start by having a good read of the Newbies Sticky - this will inform you of the current situation and the range of options for tackling them. :)

Appeal anyway. As per the NEWBIES thread, using the template. Then POPLA.

Tell Dad to appeal only as 'registered keeper' and not to add *helpful* details about why he parked as he did!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
