I started with Barclaycard Initial and a £150 credit limit
2 years and 4 months later I have a Barclays Freedom Reward Card
and a £2,050 Credit Limit
I always pay the card off in full per month and once I reached a credit limit of
£1000 plus I only use around half of my credit limit per month.
Hope that helps.0 -

I seem to recall reading that Barclays and MBNA tend to give large credit limits. Is my memory correct and are there any other issuers known for giving large limits?
You asked a question and have quite a few replies. I have yet to see anyone who took the time and trouble to reply get a THANKS.0 -
I only have two cards; Sainsbury's gave me £9,000 to start with and recently upped this to £10,200. My Virgin card remains at £4,800.
I'm guessing the Virgin card hasn't been upped as I used it purely as a BT card and have only been paying it off. Whereas the Sainsbury's card is my "spend" card (still with 0%).0 -
In my experience HSBC gave the best limit straight from the off, I've never had anything to do with them before. Barclaycard was my first CC with a starting limit of £250, Santander is who my joint account has been with a few years prior to opening my first card with them and I have banked with Lloyds since I was 16.
HSBC £6500
Barclaycard CB £6000
Barclaycard Platinum £3500
Lloyds Platinum £3250
Santander 123 £2000
Santander Everyday £2000
Nationwide £1800
I'd give HSBC or Barclaycard a go personally0
