The £5k reduction does sound like something one of the online agents I tried to view a house with a few months ago did. They told me they couldn't get hold of the vendor to book a viewing for about 3 weeks, then said it was being taken off the market. Though it was still on Rightmove and the price got reduced by £5k. I phoned again to ask if I could view, but the agent said 'no, it's off the market, the reduction is an administrative error'. It came back on at the original price with a new agent shortly after.0
