Hi
Wonder if you can help. I just had a Windows update for Windows 10.
Since then, every few minutes, when moving my wireless mouse, the mouse pointer keeps moving after I stop moving the mouse.
This actions stops in about 1 second but the mouse pointer is not where I want it to be.
Its a HP4000 wireless mouse. I went into device manager and got it to update the driver, and I was told the driver was uptodate.
I then went onto the HP site and they don't have a Windows 10 driver for this mouse. They had no suggestions other than update the driver through device manager or rely on your OS supplier.
Any thoughts on how I resolve this?
Does it just need new batteries and the windows update is a coincidence?
Many thanks in advance.

Strange, you wouldn't think a mouse would be affected. Certainly try new batteries, You could try fully uninstalling the mouse in device manager, ticking the 'delete software for this device' too then refreshing the device manager and see what it installs - of course it could give you the same driver again.0

With any mouse issues like this the culprit is likely to be batteries or some fluff in hole where the sensor is on the base. Blow out the sensor hole and try again. If still dodgy try new batteries.0

...or it could be a w10 update borking the driver, in the same way it made some older machines unuseable in the wifi and sound departments..... yes it really can happen as has been proved previously.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I would uninstall the driver from device manager reboot and let windows find the driver .
Must say with numerous win 10 updates i have no driver problems .(KB4015583) last update .0 -
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
I fortunately have not had to carry any of them out. The mouse seems to be behaving perfectly fine.
Possibly just some dirt on the mouse that got cleaned by usage.
Thanks again.0 -
I found that on one machine the creation update removed the association for .msc files. I couldn't restore it through the normal file associaqtion dialogue but had to resort to a registry fix.0
