  • Hey there are lots of schemes out there that will take 2.2 but if you don't have work experience you must have something else to show them that are you are suitable. i.e what did you do instead of working.

The best sites to looc at are doctorjob.com, prospects and target jobs for more information. Are you currently working at the moment?

you have a number of options...find an employer...although you may find for this year most of your fellow graduates will have cherry picked the best ones during their last term

take a year out....see the world....although this one puts you a year behind

try and find funding for a post grad course/ research grant etc

    good luck anyway
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

There are SO many graduates nowadays that it's kinda hard getting a decent job with a 2:2, so you'll have to fight alot harder! It also depends what uni you went to... (a 2:2 from Oxbridge is more impressive to some employees than a 1st from elsewhere, especially if you've done alot of other stuff at uni).

I know many people who do graduate recruitment, and work experience is important, as well as standing out from the crowd (unusual activities?!?!) and showing that you will fit in well into a company.

Lots of larger companies will take on IT people as non-graduate positions (usually paying around £12k - £18k), so it would help you gain work experience, and then would leave you in a better position to apply for grad jobs. If you're quite competent, you might want to apply for a smaller company as you will be given ALOT more responsibility which will look great on your CV.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

To be fair chasing grad schemes is only hard work for little reward. There are many great jobs that are not in grad schemes where you are not considered a trainee.

In jobs grades and numbers mean little so don't let your degree class put you off.
