Kitchen tiling scheme ideas

We are putting in a new white kitchen soon, with a dark black/reddy brown granite effect worktop, and white walls/ceiling, and so I wanted to do some tiling to warm it up a bit but I dont want it looking to clinical or too over the top. Can anyone suggest any website that can give me tiling pattern/schemes that I can look at ie mixing several similar colours to make a pattern in the tiles and how to lay them ie I know how to lay tiles, but if there is a running pattern, should the pattern run along the worktop, or under the window sill etc.. any sites or advice would be great...

Don't know of a website but think that you would probably be much better looking at some real samples alongside your kitchen doors and paint samples in the actual room. The lighting will make an incredible difference and don't forget the impact on the room the flooring will make. If that's not possible, take the samples of the doors and flooring to some tile showrooms to match up.

If you are going for a white kitchen it will be quite clinical. I wouldn't go for anything too 'shiny ceramic tile' and a 'pattern/scheme' might look a bit contrived. Rather than going for a 'scheme' or 'pattern' you might find that something with a more 'natural material' will give variations in colour and texture that will show your new kitchen off to its best advantage and won't need a mix of different colour tiles in a jigsaw puzzle plan.
