If you want her to poo regularly at more or less the same times she really needs to be fed at the same times.
My older lab poos twice a day, easy to pick up. No mess left behind at all..
My puppy is fed 4 times a day, 7am,12pm,4pm,8pm and poos pretty regularly. Again easy to pick up so I know her food amount is right.
I have never free feed a dog, always get fed at set ish times. Dogs like routineSame with toileting etc, we have only had one pee accident in nearly 2 weeks which is great. I like routine asap
If she is 8 weeks I'm assuming you have only recently got her, they can take a while to settle in
Pups ideally need to be worked more than twice in first 8 weeks.
By 'Scoots' i mean she drags her bum along the floor.
She has been wormed 3 times now.
What kind of feeding routine does she need? 3x a day, or 2x a day?0 -
At that age, they recommend feeding breakfast, lunch, dinner and pick up the bowl after five minutes.0

The usual thing is to carry on the four meals the puppy has been used to and then , after a short while, it's normal to become disinterested in one meal, so don't panic. (I often found it to be the bedtime one, as they were winding down for the overnight sleep or the lunchtime one as the milky Weetabix breakfast was a favourite.)
You can then leave out this meal and give the daily amount in three portions, until they lose interest in another one. Some owners prefer to always feed twice a day, while others prefer one meal ( I have tended to go for one, with a small 'treat' meal of something like a Bonio in a morning).
Do watch her weight and reduce food, if necessary as cavalier seem to come in two distinct groups: those who will eat until they burst, so get fat or the fusspot who will turn their noses up at yesterday's favourite food.
Another point is that small breeds do not need a lot of exercise, garden play being fine for the first few months (especially as this one is particularly young; breeders I've known wanting to keep them until 10 weeks , as they are slow maturing ), with carrying out and about, for socialising. Overdoing exercise , causes incorrect bone formation , which can lead to a 'leggy' adult.0 -
Aah I see
We call the 'scoots' the runs here lol
Not sure what if could be then, have you noticed any worms in her poo? Does her behind look ok, not sore looking?
Pups under 12 weeks old should be fed 4 times a day. They need little amounts and often.
Drop to 3 times at 12 weeks then twice at around 6 months ish. Your breeder should really have advised about feeding.
Worming wise is usually every 2 weeks from birth. Has she had a check up at vet since you have had her?
What breed is she?
This is my 9 week old girl with her big sister0
