Cheap Berry Plants?

Hoping someone may be able to advise :)

I'd love to plant some blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, specifically container varieties, but these all seem pretty expensive in the search I have done so far!

Does anyone have any recommendations of places to look online for reasonably priced plants please?

I had a seasonal sale email from Ashridge nurseries this morning - they may not seem that cheat but their plants are worth a bit extra for the confidence that I've not had with pound shop plants!

Says she looking at a hedge greening up industriously & four containers sat looking a bit pensive.

Supermarkets sell plants cheap. My blueberry plants came from Tesco.

Just make sure they are fresh looking and not dried out when you buy them.
  • A few years ago I got a five-variety pack of blueberries from Parkers, although they only seemed to do a three pack now. They were small to start with, but with blueberries you know they are long-lasting so that's not a problem if you're patient. Also, multiple varieties are probably better for pollination, etc, although I've no proof of that. At first I was just happy for them to grow bigger, but they've done that now, so I'm focusing on proper pruning to maximise crops.
