I don't know if I am posting this in the right forum, so please feel free to move this if needed.

I overheard the shop assistant in The Works the other day, saying that the stores were closing down.

I don't know if it is true but I guess if there is, there will be some real bargains going.

Good link. Thank you. There doesn't seem to be any mention of them closing down. I hope they don't! But the shop assistant was rattling off a number of the store locations to her friend on the other end of the phone. Telling her what order they were closing down.

well that makes a pleasant change from SAs discussing what they did last night to their friend on the phone while you are waiting to be served and made to feel like you are intruding :rotfl:

I know what you mean, I was desparetley trying not to earwig this conversation. Well trying to look like I wasn't anyway.

Very poor planning here if it is true because they are fitiing out a brand new store "as we speak"

Maybe it's just some stores then? Or maybe they are just planning to refurbish them?
You can tell, I don't really want them to close down!

I asked in the Lincoln store today, where they hadn't heard anything about stores closing. They said there are new ones opening, and wondered whether when they open a flash new store they close an older perhaps smaller one nearby.

They also told me about the refurbishment programme, so let's hope they'll be around for years.
