Northern Parking Services

Hello
I have received a number of parking fines from Northern Parking Services at my works car park. I was informed to ignore these and I have. They have managed to track me down and I have now been contacted by a debt collection company called dcbl to pay the fines plus additional fees, equating to £420!
We have now realised the parking disc I was given when I started my job is actually an out of date permit which is why I have received the fines. I didn't do anything at the time assuming this was a con and I wouldn't have to pay it. It is now too late for me to contest the parking ticket at work.
Please can anyone advise what I should do? I am currently saving for a mortgage and would hate for this to impact my credit file. Do I have to pay this?

you do not need to pay a penny.

Talk to your employer - they seem to have put you in this position.
Does your employer employ NPS to patrol the car park? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

It will help us to know, what wasn't answered when you read the thread 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST'? That's why it is near the top and attempts to cover the basics of challenges and/or defences, to stop too many 'what do I do?' and 'do I have to pay?' threads we simply can't keep up with, despite concerted efforts here by regulars.
Please clarify what help you need after reading the sticky?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
