Is there anything I can do? CCCS said my debts wont be paid in my life time, We owe £14k, but they worked out all we can pay is £75 a month £5 to each of our creditors everymonth, I get £200 a week which is awful but believe it or not its more than 99% of the other jobs around here, what can we do short of leaving the country??

I have one debt, which will take from what I can remember 144 years to pay.0

Hi dj9928,
If CCCS have told you that (assuming it's the Consumer Credit Counselling Service rather than that company using their initials), then I'm sure they will have given you some very sound advice, and would suggest sticking to it.
It may be possible for us to help you reduce your outgoings. If you post a statement of affairs (see the sticky at the top of the board for details - it's basically a list of your incomings and outgoings which we pick apart and try and save you money), we'll get right on it.0 -
 Aww sweetie, you sound a bit fed up.
The thing is, what the CCCs says is based on your circumstances now - but things change. kids grow up, people get pay rises or new jobs, benefit entitlement changes, Rich rellies leave you a fortune....
It's possible that bankruptcy might be a better option for you.
If you give us some more details - or post them on the bankruptcy board, somebody will be able to advise you.
Welcome to the gang!

At least your debt dies when you do(sorry it's my sick sense of humour that I had totally lost when I was in the position you are in now)Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -

Since you rent, have you considered moving to get work? As a trademand, you might get more than you do now, alough the large number of East European workers have reduuced the sky high rates some were getting. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Yep thats my major problem, I should be getting double what I'm getting and I was getting it at a stage hence why I didn't mind getting into debt as I could afford it, now I can't
It sounds to me like you're going through a bad patch. Circumstances may be bad at the moment, but I'm sure that things will improve for you.0 -
I would suggest having a sorting weekend; is there anything you can sell? Did they offer any advice on what to do about the situation? It woud sound like bankbupcy (? sp!) may be a viable option & if you own no property have no house to loose? Bug hug for you; it must feel desperate....Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
