Sorry but I have to agree with Truthman... Groupon will never see my custom again, after the long, painful, drawn-out fuss and bother I had trying to get them to refund me.
I have since done my research on this company, and discover that have been in trouble before with the Office of Fair Trading /Advertising Standards Authority. It appears that they are adept at misleading people regarding the availability of "deals". They also lie about the terms and conditions, and change the expiry dates of vouchers to try to catch people out. Apparently this last is very lucrative for them: lots of people pay upfront and then meekly go away empty-handed when Groupon tell them that they've lost their money, look in 'the fine print'.
I am not meek! Each time they lied to me or tried to put me off reclaiming my money, it simply made me more determined not to let them get away with it. But I had to use the MSE 'Resolver' service, argue for a whole week, and threaten them with County Court Action before they refunded me.
As far as I'm concerned, they are a bunch of Cowboys and I would urge anyone thinking of buying one of their deals: Don't! You may live to regret it.0 -
