My machine has officially died, can anyone recommend which make to get next. I know Miele are good but I can't really afford £500, I was thinking more £250. I have seen a Bosch Classixx WAE24162 on the John Lewis website, and they give a 2 year guarantee as standard.
I don't need any fancy bits just a good hardworking machine.
Thanks in advance

My experience of Bosch washing machines is very good. Never had a problem, same story with other people I have spoken to.
These are workhorse machines, claim to be water efficient, are reasonably quiet and most of them are A-rated. The ready in x minutes countdown timer is a very handy feature if your model has it.0 -
Both Mum and I have never had a days problem with our Indesit machines. Mum's had hers for 17 years and I've had mine for 10. I'm moving house soon and I'm considering getting one of their Moon machines.
When you really look at what programmes you actually use on your machine, the Moon machine has it covered with 5 programmes! Will let you know how it goes.0 -
I would recommend a Bosch, I have a 3 year old Hotpoint and would def. NOT recommend one of those;)
I don't know how much they are but I think LG have a 5 year guarantee.0 -
I would recommend a bosch too. Have you looked on the which? online website they are great for recommending and testing electrical goods.0

I got a Bosch after a horrible experience with Hoover. (Within six months both my Hoover washer and my Hoover dryer broke down so often that I finally Freecycled them).
I have been quite happy with my Bosch washer and dryer.:beer:0 -
ALL my white goods are Bosch, and most are up to 8 years old, never had a problem with any of them. Even my iron is a Bosch, (got it free with the washer)0

I mostly have Bosch appliances these days, but my trusty washing machine is Tricity Bendix. I have had two since I first set up home 21 years ago, and the second is still going strong after 15 years (I gave the first one away in working order). Do about 5-6 washes a week. Would definitely recommend. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'd eat bread and water till you can afford a miele. You can get one for £450 with online codes, quidco etc. It's the cheapest long term option!Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j
Mortgages make money. Definitely don't wanabee mortgage free!0 -
Still loving my AEG Lavamat. We have a family of five and do a lot of washing week in week out, and it's still going strong after seven years. It was only £300 odd I think too."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
