Earning clubcard points on new tesco current account vs old clubcard plus account

I still have an old "clubcard plus" account which earns extra clubcard points when you use the card in tesco, but I no longer have any idea how many.

I've just opened a new tesco current account (with the 3%) which also apparently earns me clubcard points. So is there any advantage to keep on using the clubcard plus account? I can't find the differences in earning points between the two...

I don't know anything about Tesco points, sorry. AFAIK, one disadvantage of the old Clubcard Plus account is that it prevents you from opening a 2nd Tesco current account for 3% on another £3,000. This may or may not be of value to you.

Yeah was aware of that, its a pity they won't allow you to convert the clubcard plus to a current account but I guess you could just close it first.

Granted the article is two years old but your Clubcard Plus points are listed here:

    https://yourcommunity.tescobank.com/t5/Clubcard-Plus/What-points-do-I-earn-on-Clubcard-Plus-spend/ta-p/801

Could have sworn I read somewhere you earn 1 point per £1/1 litre of fuel at Tesco PFS sites (not Esso) whereas it's 1 point per £2 with your Clubcard Plus.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Thanks, unless I've read it wrong, their example for the fuel is wrong though:

"you will earn the following on a £2 spend: 1 point Tesco Clubcard + 2 point Clubcard Plus (Tesco Bank) = 3 points"

Yet immediately above it says you only get one point per £2 with clubcard plus!

That FAQ page also has the points for the current account:

    https://yourcommunity.tescobank.com/t5/Current-Accounts/How-do-I-collect-Clubcard-points-on-my-current-account/ta-p/746

So this is the same when spending in store, but doesn't mention fuel so unsure whether you get any points when refilling?
EDIT: Followed the link for the clubcard voucher calculator and it says "Until 1 April 2019, collect one point for every £1 you spend at Tesco Petrol Filling Stations (excluding Esso fuel) in each card transaction, and you’ll also collect normal Clubcard points on top at an enhanced rate of 1 point per £1 spent (usually 1 point per £2 spent with a Clubcard)"

So I think the conclusion is that its best to spend with the clubcard debit card instead of the clubcard plus in all cases.

Have Tesco recently changed their T&Cs? I have two accounts and get interest on the £3k deposited in each without paying anything in each month and don't have DDs on either of them.

Yes they have but only for new customers, now they have reopened applications. below is copied from the front page of website.
    http://www.tescobank.com/current-accounts/existing-customers/

    'Current Account - Important information
With effect from 4 April, our Current Account Guarantee has changed for new applications. To earn 3% AER credit interest on balances up to £3,000 until 1 April 2019, you must now pay in at least £750 per statement month, and pay at least three direct debits each statement month (excluding direct debits to Tesco Bank savings accounts).

As an existing customer you will not have to have DD or monthly funding.
