transfer setting to vista from xp

Hi

Doing a system for a friend, His old motherboard packed up, so got him a new pc running windows vista. I have taken out his old hard drive and installed it on his new machine.
How do I transfer his old setting from the old hard drive to vista.
He is on dial up (so need the dial up settings & favourites and email if possible).

I tried that method and I ended up copying the same info.
I went wrong somewhere.
Is there a way to manually copy the setting.

can you upgrade from your vista disc?

Ideally you need two PC's. Put the HD into a machine, install Vista on the laptop and run the files and settings transfer wizard.

Going to buy a hard drive caddy and do it that way.
