RBS Mastercard - PPI reclaim question

Options
Hello - I've had an RBS MasterCard since 1988 (it was originally branded as "Access"). I know I had PPI from the date I took out the card until at least the autumn of 1990.

I no longer have any of my statements from this time, but the card has never been closed, and indeed I am still using it to this day. The only changes in the time since I took the card out are that the card number has changed and also my home address.

Am I able to make a claim in this situation?

many thanks.

What would you be looking to claim for?

That's a two year period almost thirty years ago, so if you have no statements, I wouldn't expect the Bank to have records either.

Probably a non-starter, but you can spend £10 on a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter which will provide all details they have kept on file for you.

Why are you so certain you had PPI for those two years?

Because I remember cancelling it as I felt I was paying too much each month.

A 27 year-old memory is unlikely to be enough unless the Bank has kept records. Cancelling the PPI is also a reason to time bar you from complaint anyhow.
