What shall I do for my birthday?

Suggestions welcomed
I'll be turning 38, so it's not a major birthday, but I didn't do much last year so I'd like to this year.
One of my intentions is to have a gaming night - I just bought a couple of really silly card games - but I want something maybe a bit adventurous too?
I'm female, my friends are probably 80% male 20% female. I'm not very good at being a girl but like some "girly" things (facial treatments and massages).
Also, I'm based in Newcastle, budget per person likely around the £50 mark.
Any ideas? TIA!

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

How about an escape room game?
Is your budget one you'll be spending or one you'll be asking other people to spend?0 -

I'll probably pay for an activity but they'll be paying for their own food and drinks (kinda how we did the do I was at on Saturday!)
Basically there's a few of us that just want to do something different
Pollycat, I know...but just going for a meal is boring and could come to that much anyway haha!

Some people go for Murder Mystery Parties. They're said to be very good fun, though I am not sure of the cost. Possibly the more there are of you, the cheaper it would be.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I was also going to suggest one of those Escape rooms, I know of a lot of people who have done them & had a great time.
A few more suggestions:
Bowling
Go Karting
Paintballing
Cocktail making
City sightseeing tour
Tickets to see a show0 -
We did clay pigeon shooting for my partner's birthday 2 years ago and it was really good- suited a mixed group. Other things we've considered are segweys and go outdoors/ obstacle course things.
My partner did escape room for a work team-building thing recently and said it was really mixed. He enjoyed it as his team escaped both rooms, but some of the other teams didn't and found the whole thing quite frustrating. But I think work things always make the dynamic more difficult.0 -

It wasn't me who suggested a meal!
This is my first post on your thread.
Enjoy whatever you decide to do though.:)0 -
How about a cheap day return to Manchester and do the Crystal Maze?

This is a money saving site - that means getting the best deal you can for what you want to do. So the OP can spend £500 a head on her birthday and that would be totally within what this site is about: getting the best deal you can for that £500. This sight is not about living small, but living well , and within your means.pollypenny wrote: »£50 pp for an ordinary birthday!
