CCJ Help!

Hey all,

I'm new to this site but really need some help!
Had a CCJ on my credit file that I have paid and I thought all was fine.. marked as satisfied (on one credit file) After looking at getting a mortgage and signing up to another credit file agency it is appearing twice. One as satisfied, the other not. I have looked into it, after phoning one company to another I have now been told I need a letter from restons to 'prove' it is satisfied and for it to be taken off the credit file.

I phone restons back at the beginning of March, their reply was we will send it out today. After another 3 phone calls I'm still waiting. I decided to email them, their reply was we will respond in 10 days.. 10 days later I have emailed again and I have had the same email back.. we will respond in 10 day
Does anybody have any idea what I can do to get this letter?

Thanks in advance!!

Who told you you need to obtain this letter ?

It's up to the creditor to update the credit file, not you.

Raise a complaint through the CRA, copy it to Restons too.

Hi Wezza28 and welcome to MSE,

If both of the CCJ's have the same reference number I would suggest you try and find the bank statement for proof of the payment and then obtain a certificate of satisfaction from the court (which costs about £15) and use that to write to the credit files to get the other CCJ removed, as you can prove that CCJ has already been satisfied.

You can complain to Reston's about their bad service and escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service. If it remains unresolved then you can also go to the Information Commissioners Office.
