G9 's, should I move to LED

got quite a few light fittings at home that take this bulb.
Standard builds last no time and I'm continually fitting replacements.
What's the deal with LED's. Are they a good enough replacement for this fitting? Last I looked into this a few years ago the impression given was on G9's the tech just wasn't there.
Next question revolves around the Dimmer facility. Some fittings currently have dimmer switches. If I switch to dimmable LED, am I right in thinking thew dimmer switched will need replacement

I've replaced the G9 bulbs in one fitting with LEDs, no problems so far. There's no dimmer involved, so I can't comment on that. Some G9 LEDs have directional output, shining most of their light out of their "end", so you might want to avoid those if your light fittings are designed for an even spread of light.0

They've come a long way. Just make sure you're replacing like with like - brightness, colour temperature, beam angle, if you want them to look the same.
Dimmers - you're right - you'll need to be buying 'dimmable' LEDs (more of these around now) and you MIGHT also need a new dimmer switch. Better to budget for it.0
