Private G24 fine with a parking meter

Apologies if this has been posted, I went through all the links I could and couldnt find any.

I am aware if get parking notice in Scotland to ignore it. I am in Scotland but wondered if below made any difference..

My question really is does this apply only where its a free car park?

Circumstances...

Parked in Matalan. Was always free for 2 hours.

It then changed to a touch screen meter where you pay ( and get refund if shop ).

I went up to pay for it as was jumping into a shop round the corner ( not one where get refund ) and it said to pay on exit not now... so I went to the shop round the corner and bumped into an old family friend not seen for 4 years. Got chatting went for a coffee came back and completely forgot to pay for it.

Received it today saying the usual guff bla bla bla but there is two bits that worry me.

1. It did have a touch screen to pay unlike the free for 2 hours ones.

2. it said "if i was the driver to pay it or if i was not the driver to pass it to the driver " etc which i know is just rubbish and to bin it but it then went on to say if i dont tell them who the driver was within 21 days they will assume i was the driver and may come back

It did say "we invite you to do the following" ...

so do i just ignore it !

Latest example of their desperate attempt to find out the driver's identity, further reinforcing that they have absolutely zero prospect of nailing the keeper.

Ignore them and any debt recovery agents lettering you.
