Outlook 2003 - duplicate emails removal

I have done a web search and there seem to be some built in methods (within outlook) and several add-ins that will remove duplicate emails. However their effectiveness seems to be varied and trial versions often seem to have numeric limitations as to how many duplicates can be removed. so.........

Can anyone suggest a tool or method to remove duplicate emails from the Inbox (primarily) that is either free or cheap (MSE remember!!) that is a kosher program without a virus etc!

The emails are duplicated owing to a rationalisation/import of several historical pst files so, as far as I can tell by inspection, are exact duplicates all content, dates such as sent, received, modified being also identical.

It is not likely now that this will happen again ( I had asked for duplicates to be ignored upon import but they ended up in new folders and I unwittingly copied them over to the 'common' inbox folder!) but there must be a few thousand of them........doh!

You should try Duplicate Files Deleter software, I'm using it and it's splendid!

Is that provides not just a deleted of duplicate files rather than emails which I presume are just duplicate records?
