Paying with Curry's Gift Card Online

I am considering buying a pc monitor from Curry's online. I plan to pay a large chunk of the purchase price with a gift card.
What I am worried about is this: I I went to one of the Curry's retail shops in London to see the monitor on display. Guys there run the label via their internal system and told me that the monitor wasn't available anywhere in London (neither for display, nor in stock in any shop). Basically, the monitor wasn't available for purchase anywhere in any of their London shops. They did not even offer an option to make an order and pick it up few days later. And yet the monitor is available for purchase online.
I am afraid that I will pay for the monitor online and then Curry's will tell me that they ran out of stock for this item. What will happen next? Will I lose my funds from the gift card? Or will the refund it?
Unfortunately, I had some bad customer experience with Curry's before, don't wont to get burnt again.

If you order an item that is not in stock, you will not lose any money. Why would you? Curry's wouldn't stay in business for very long if they did that to their customers!
If you order online,. you usually find out whether an item is in stock or not before you part with any cash.

I got up to the point were you enter you credit card details and gift card details in the online form.
I am particularly concerned with the terms of the gift card. If I understand correctly, the terms of the gift card do not allow a refund back to the gift card. So I don't want to end up in a situation, where they say: sorry, the item is out of stock, we will refund you credit card part of the payment, but we cannot refund back to the gift card.
As I said, I had bad customer experience with Curry's before. So I am not so optimistic about what they can or cannot do to their customers. I am only trying to buy through them, because this particular model is currently available only at Curry's.0 -
We have this dilemma with Curry's all the time, OH gets Curry's vouchers at a discount but we've come to the conclusion that the 8% we save just isn't worth the hassle.
Only last week I did click and collect for a £150 printer, got confirmation it was there waiting for me, OH said do you want vouchers, luckily I said no because when I got there they had no printers, despite the website telling me they had. Typical Currys/PCWorld non-existent stock of things on offer.
We did have it happen once that we used the voucher codes then found the item was out of stock after reaching the payment stage, they did refund us eventually, but we had to phone them several times. I don't think they can not refund you when it's the fault of their own system, I haven't read the terms of the card you have, but I think it means they can't refund to that particular card so they may have to issue a new one or an e-voucher.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Why do you think you will lose your funds from the gift card? Currys will either reimburse the spent amount back to the same card if they can or give another gift card to that value.0 -

So what is the PVW aspect here?0 -
Keep hold of the gift card until you have your hands on the monitor just in case. Quite often retailers will automatically refund the funds back to the gift card used if they can't supply the order.
While it you would probably be able to get a new gift card from Currys if you had disposed of the original one, it's just an added complication for you.0 -
