Questions about Direct Debits

Hi everybody!

Just 2 short questions:
1) How does PayPal Direct Debit works? I set one using Wallet and they charged me with some amount of money and right now it's on my Direct Debits list but next payment date is "Unknown" but there is last payment date. Can I treat it like "active Direct Debit"?
2) What's the another active Direct Debit I can set fast? Most of charities means I need to wait at least a few weeks to have DD on the list in my bank. Or maybe you know some charity which takes care? I mean week, maximum 10 days. I'd be happy to set DD for charity instead of some useless organisation/company.

Thanks!

Yes, active is opposite to 'inactive/dormant': https://www.directdebit.co.uk/DirectDebitExplained/FAQs/pages/inactivedirectdebits.aspx

10 days is a realistic time for a DD to Tesco savings account, but I don't remember how long it takes to open it.
    Why the rush?
